Dr. Lamya Alkooheji

Dr. Lamya Alkooheji holds a PhD and an MA in linguistics from the University of Edinburgh, UK, and a BA in English language and literature from the University of Bahrain, Bahrain, and had worked as an academic at the University of Bahrain, Bahrain, for the past 19 years. She has published several books, articles in reputed journals. She was also the leader researcher of a winning research in the category of sports medicine research in Nasser bin Hamad Award for Scientific Research in its Second Edition (2018).
During her work at the University of Bahrain, Lamya was known to keep a strong and close relationship with her students, and even students she had not taught, and has provided one-to-one mentoring and advice. Lamya has developed useful printed and online teaching and learning materials. She has provided various training sessions at university and community level.
Dr. Chitra Sinha

Dr. Chitra Sinha has been engaged in university teaching and research for three decades in India, USA, Sweden, South Africa and Bahrain. Dr. Sinha was Associate Professor at the University of Mumbai; Research Centre for Women’s Studies, SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai; Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan; and Royal University for Women in Bahrain. She has been a research fellow at the Centre for Study of Women at the University of California, Los Angeles, USA. , Center for Gender Research, Uppsala University, Sweden and at the Centre for African Studies, University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa.
Apart from teaching, Dr. Chitra possesses extensive experience in academic administration and training. She has also designed and conducted training programs for college and university teachers as well as corporates in India and has contributed to postgraduate distance education program of University of Mumbai.
Safiya Zarzour

Safiya holds an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Bahrain and a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Qatar. She worked as a lecturer at the English Language Center (ELC) at the University of Bahrain for a total of thirteen years. Safiya is a certified Microsoft educator and has fellowship of the Advanced Higher Education Academy (AHEA), UK. She has a wide experience in teaching the foundation programs and enhancing students’ proficiency and fluency. She has presented in the ELC’s second symposium and moderated in the ELC’s first and second conferences. She enjoys working with students from all levels, and is active in designing extracurricular materials.

Mariam Younis, a translator interested in legal translation. She holds a B.A in English language and literature- minor Translation from the University of Bahrain. She worked as a trainee in Babylon Translation Centre under the supervision of Translator Ahmed Jameel. She is particularly interested in legal translation and worked with a number of lawyers in the field of legal translation.

Fatima A. Hay Alkooheji is professional Legal Counsellor in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, Bahrain, with over ten years of rich experience in various fields of law in both private and public sectors. She hold a bachelor degree (LLB) in Law from the University of Bahrain, and a professional certificates in Arbitrators commercial and Construction (G.C.C. Commercial Arbitration Centre) and also a professional certificate in Arbitration and Legal Analysis of Islamic Financial Contracts (from BIBF, Bahrain). She is highly interested in Family law and preparation and drafting of all types of contracts and formation of companies.
