This consultancy is revolutionary and it fills several gaps that exist between education and careers, it treats the students as customers and this is a new approach. This allows most of the individual’s needs to be met. Besides, it creates a social circle of people who share similar educational backgrounds in Bahrain and this can serve several goals that extend beyond education. The consultancy also gives opportunities to the youth in the Bahraini society to demonstrate their skills and boost their careers as Dr Lamya AlKooheji embraces them to collaborate with her. Finally, it can serve as a place in Bahrain that can cover any shortage from the universities as the classroom setting is different.

As for the live streaming online class experience, it was more convenient for us all in terms of location and there were no problems. I believe that the statistics course is highly beneficial to anyone who is enrolled in a Master’s degree program regardless of the chosen major.

Kooheji Training is ahead of its time and it will have a great impact in shaping Bahrain’s future. This is the place where many individuals, who are willing to expand their knowledge, come together.

It is always a pleasure to be enrolled in Dr. Lamya Alkooheji’s workshops for several reasons. One of the major reasons is the dedication and passion of the trainer and the depths and breadth of knowledge, skills and attributes that are professionally delivered to trainees. In addition, I am fortunate to have the Statistics course in a perfect timing, which is aligned with my progression in the Master’s programme.

It is worth mentioning that the major success factors of this workshop are the flexibility and readiness of the trainer in employing e-learning, and the relevancy of the examples and the hands-on exercises demonstrated during the workshop. One last thing! I will certainly retake the workshop once it is offered again.

I attended a three-hour live streaming online course that aimed to deliver a basic understanding of writing a proper research proposal for postgraduate programs. I found the course unique in its content as it was not delivered in the traditional form of a lecture overwhelmed with theories and mechanisms. In contrast, it was a purely practical exercise that enabled us to write an actual proposal and get direct feedback from the trainer, Dr Lamya Alkooheji. Another interesting aspect of the course was that we, the participants, got the chance to share and exchange ideas and examples with each other. In addition to that, I liked the model that was prepared and presented by the trainer, which has greatly simplified the scientific terminologies related to the subject. I would therefore advise anyone interested in learning how to build a solid research proposal with concrete understanding to join this course.

We are writing this recommendation letter to sincerely thank Kooheji Consultancy for their outstanding professional English Assessment developed for Zain Youth screening at Zain Bahrain.

The objective of this assessment is to support our organisation hiring process with a consistent reliable tool that can evaluate applicants’ English level fairly and select the most suitable candidates for our minimum requirements. Since we started the assessment, the quality of our selection has improved and selected Zain Youth members (trainees) have become more capable of serving various departments at Zain Bahrain.

Overall, Zain Bahrain BSC is very pleased with the English Assessment provided by Kooheji Consultancy, and we highly recommend it to other organisations.

I did a course on qualitative data analysis with Dr. Lamya Alkooheji as part of my Master’s degree program.

It was a very informative and eye-opening course. Dr. Lamya covered the important areas brilliantly. I enjoyed the practical elements the most. They immensely helped in terms of understanding data and statistics in scientific research papers.

I attended a workshop on writing research proposal. Dr. Lamya Alkooheji’s experience in research, depth of understanding of the clients interdisciplinary topic, and her ability to present the topic have enhanced our critical thinking. The workshop layout was clear and well structured. The feedback of the task given before and after the workshop reinforced our learning outcome.

I have also chosen to get a personal consultation session with Dr. Lamya while setting up my master’s degree’s thesis, and she was agile and capable of organising my thoughts and ideas. She also curved out time to reply to my questions and doubts in all aspects, and bridged the gap between my topic and existing resources. During the sessions, Dr. Lamya and I discussed the contents and how to conduct a creditable and valuable scientific research paper. She carved out time to reply to my questions and my doubts in all aspects.

Student, Civil Engineering, University of Bahrain

I studied pre-engineering subjects in school so that I could get engineering major in university. However, due to the unavailability of engineering seats at UoB, I got software engineering as my major. I didn’t lose hope and applied for civil engineering during the first semester. The criterion for changing one’s college was to get a GPA of 3 or more (out of 4). I registered three soft engineering courses and one English language course. By the end of the first semester, I got extremely upset with the results, as because of scoring C in English, I was 0.2 below the target GPA and was not qualified for transferring to civil engineering.

I decided to do the following English course in Semester 2. I sought help from my seniors about the following English coure’s best instructor. They all recommended one single name: “Dr Lamya Alkooheji”. I consequently shuffled my schedule so that I could get a seat in any of Dr Lamya’s sections. I must have been very lucky to get a seat, as one of her two sections was already full and there were only four seats left at 8:05 AM in her second section on the first day of registration! Now this time I witnessed a remarkable improvement in my grammar and speaking skills and I decided to apply again for transferring to civil engineering. I was glad to find out that I scored B+ in English this time and I succeeded in transferring to the major I wanted most.

No doubt, all the credit goes to Dr Lamya’s tremendous efforts due to which, in a very short time, I learnt a lot, something I couldn’t learnt in the previous six years. I always say to my friend, if someone thinks he or she can’t learn English grammar, give him or her the contact of Dr Lamya. I might be the only one who made it civil engineering with a grade of 42% in English in school, thanks to the improvement I made in English in the second semester. I used to think that my English grammar couldn’t improve at any cost.

Dr Lamya Alkooheji is a fantastic educator with an upbeat and gregarious personality, who had always prepared well-tailored and focused classes, and took her job incredibly seriously. I don’t recall that I had ever attended any of Dr Lamya’s classes and had regretted it; her classes are striking, engaging and most important – ENJOYABLE… She is an unparalleled person who outstands in her career and one that I will remember till the rest of my life.
Dr Lamya will remain one of my sources of inspiration

Before I was a part of Dr Lamya Al Kooheji creative writing workshop, I was lost. I did not have friends (and those who I would consider as friends, I had no idea how to communicate with). I barely spoke with anybody, even with my parents. I did not have the courage to act, to speak, or to start an initiative in any project.

I was a Finance student who changed majors to English because I have been diagnosed with a chronic illness known as Multiple Sclerosis. However, this illness gave me a reason to try and seek something, a drive, or a purpose. I stumbled into the workshop one year after I changed majors. At first, I did not want to participate. I was afraid. But a part of me recognized that this is why I changed my field of study, to find a purpose. I still remember that first day. I still have my notes that I look over from time to time – always have a bottle of water nearby, 1500 is the average of a chapter. I remember that I struggled writing the first chapters of the novel, but writing is not what I remember vividly, it was the encouragement and criticisms I got. It was perhaps the first time in my life that someone made the effort to compliment and critique a piece of my work. Something in me got reignited.

After a year since the start of the workshop. I do not look back to the first chapters I wrote, but I look back to the person I was – the workshop gave me confidence, and with it some self-worth. I have friends now, plenty of them. I speak in a week more than I did a whole year. I participate in a volunteer project where I teach kids basic English. I now write essays with my style, confident of my answers. When it comes to writing stories, I have gained more insight into the smallest of details regarding every aspect of story writing. It is the comments of Dr Lamya that made my novel what it is now. Her advice and suggestions are what made me come up with such a grand story. Hence why I enjoy and cherish so deeply each single comment I have gotten throughout this one year.
I thank her for all the kindness and patience she has shown me. As I forever dream, that I can make her proud of the story that I am currently writing, and all the stories that I will ever write in the future. As the novel now, is made by the hard work of all who participated in the workshop, not just mine. As such, it would be no exaggeration when I say, I would be truly lost without this workshop. I would have been a mere shadow of who I am now as a writer, and as a person.

Dr Lamya Alkooheji is easily one of the most uplifting personalities in the University. I remember when I first got to meet her in a presentation she made in the American Studies Centre about how to publish your book. The presentation was filled with new information for us as students. It handled topics no academic course had offered, such as steps of book publishing and contacting publishers. Moreover, what made the presentation more interesting wasn’t just the new content, but the energetic presenter who did more than simply read the slides. In addition, Dr Alkooheji’s office has always been open for students. She supports and guides students including myself in creative writing, unlocking and guiding whatever potential they have. In short, I am glad I got to have met Dr Lamya during my academic journey and proud of being called her student.

Ghassan Sohail

Former student at the Information Technology, University of Bahrain, currently a student in Lahore, Pakistan.

When it comes to writing a novel Dr Lamya is a blessing in disguise. I’ve written my first Novel with her and my journey with her has been exceptional. I started writing my story with the intentions of writing an ordinary novella with in the span of 17-25k words, but with her recommendations, guidance and help I’ve written a novel with over 50k words. For someone who’s an introvert I found it hard to explain my story to others, but her uplifting, positive, and fun personality make her easy to open up to and wonderful to work with. She’s an extraordinary writing coach, who not only gave advice at every step of my story, but also motivated me when I slowed down or faced writer’s block. My writing has improved a lot since I joined her workshop. She is confident in her work and has a great and friendly attitude. She treated my work like her own and recommended the right changes in my style and my story. She has suggested the right ending and the name to my novel. She reads everything you write and is active on social media. I get immediate response from her whenever I contact her. She has read (even reread some of them) and commented on all my chapters. Our writing workshop consisted of seven number people, and she has read, re-read, and commented on all of them. She has kept everyone motivated, on-the-clock and most importantly she made sure everyone writing. I consider her a mentor/guru more than a writing coach. I’d love working with her again and I’d recommend everyone to work with her.

Eman Elraie

a student at the Department of English Language and Literature, the University of Bahrain.

Dr Lamya Alkooheji is a Linguistic assistant professor at the University of Bahrain, where I am majoring in English Language and Literature. Even though I have not been privileged to be one of her official students, she mentored me and other students in a Creative Writing Workshop that started from December 2017 to December of 2018, resulting in the finishing of novels for many of the participating students. During that time, I not only got to know Dr Lamya, the professor, but also the mentor and creative author who she is. Dr Lamya helped me in finishing and editing my first novel. If it wasn’t for the boost of confidence that Dr Lamya placed in me, I wouldn’t have pursued in publishing my short stories.

Dr Lamya has a remarkable, positive personality and high worth ethics and diligence.

She is the coach you want to have on your side of the ring, the one who will stick by you and push you to reach the finish line. I was lucky enough to know her in my first year of college and I hope our bond only grows stronger.

Ahmed Hilal

Student in the Department of Architecture, University of Bahrain

Dr Lamya Alkooheji was my first class in college. It was as early as 8:00 am on a Monday, and just based on that timing, I wasn’t really expecting and uplifting class. I was wrong, of course. Overthrowing my expectations, Dr Lamya entered the class with a smile that suggested excitement, care, and deep love and devotion to her job. That smile wasn’t an “only first day” thing, however. She kept entering the class with the same smile and enthusiasm every single time, without any exception. She first taught us grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, title capitalization, and how to write a paragraph. That was already more than what the course was supposed to offer, and she offered it so that we would improve our English through our college studies. I thought that that was it by the end of my first semester. You see, I only had two English courses required, and she only taught the first. Somehow the universe decided that I get to be her student once more. It was a coincidence that she had posted an invite for a creative writing workshop on her Instagram. Being an amateur writer for four years prior, decided to join her workshop in hopes of developing my writing skills. That too wasn’t it. Not only did she teach us how to write strong stories with strong events and stronger characters, but somehow she taught me how to be a better person overall.

When people get asked the question “Who’s your role model in life?” they usually suggest actors, singers, or any celebrity of that sort. This is not my answer, though. My answer is Dr Lamya Alkooheji. From the second she entered my first class with a smile, until these days where she’s having her final classes at the University of Bahrain, she is my role model. She taught me more than English or how to write; she taught me how to be a good person, and what’s better than being a good person?

Mariam Al-Dosseri

Graduate with a BA in English language and literature, University of Bahrain.

Writing my own story was a dream until I met Dr Lamya Alkhooheji at a workshop she held in December 2017 on creative writing. During the seminars and in the constant online discussions, we had, Dr Lamya was so generous and offered all kinds of support to me and my fellows in the writing group, including, instructions, suggestions and extensive comments on our work. She always made sure to teach us, the writing group, not only professional work, but also other important personal skills such as being cooperative with others. In the writing group, she gave me and my fellows the chance to edit each other extracts online and she shared extracts of her upcoming novel with us to criticise too! Whenever we wrote an extract she would edit it, give us ideas and ways to enhance our writing experience and our work. Receiving all this huge support and encouragement made me able to write my story in five months and participate in a writing competition in the UAE. Dr Lamya’s dedication of time to help the students improve, being responsive and welcoming of any inquiry, made me learn a lot more than creative writing skills.

Mariam Al-Sada

Colleague the Royal University for Women, Bahrain in 2014-15 in

I met Dr Lamya Al Kooheji on my first day at a new place of work in the academic year 2014-15. Then, she was introduced to me as my supervisor. Today, I can attest that she is a dedicated academic who continuously maintains thoughtful and detailed interest in her students and peers’ wellbeing. Dr Al Kooheji has acted as my coach on more than one occasion. While we were employed at the same institution, she utilized daily tasks as educational opportunities, giving me careful and necessary advice about translating academic knowledge to the workplace.

After our careers took separate paths, we maintained a lovely friendship. Accordingly, our conversations blossomed in other areas, such as navigating the nexus between professional and personal interests. Dr Al Kooheji’s advice was attentive and considerate then, too. Our meetings were sporadic, which highlighted her energy. In one instance she would excitedly relay an idea she had for a new project; at our next meeting, it would have been meticulously completed. I could not recommend Dr Al Kooheji enough, be it for coaching, educational consultancy, tailored academic skills training, research, or interpersonal skills training. She is an asset not to be taken lightly.

As a coordinator, the quality of her leadership has been an inspiration to me. She is very helpful, dedicated, respectful, and kind as a leader. Also generous with her time and energy. As a colleague, Dr Lamya Alkooheji is always willing to assist with professional and academic tasks and often overload herself in order to assist colleagues. She always acknowledges and comments good work done by other lectures and does not hesitate to give due praise and encouragement. As friend Dr Lamya is a true asset as she really cares about other people and is not scared to stand up for her beliefs and values.
